Is Boracay Island on the verge of closing for 2018?
Local news is reporting the recommendation to close Boracay Island in the central Philippines for 6 months to help clean an environmental problem. This proposal is being unanimously supported by all three government agencies evaluating the status of the island as well as Philippines President Duterte to close the entire island from 26 April 2018-October 2018. This has the potential to disrupt thousands of visitors (domestic and foreign) summer holiday plans.
This is our offer to help travelers keep the Philippines in their vacation plans and enjoy our amazing and beautiful country.
For guests who have arranged accommodation on Boracay between 26 April 2018 and 30 Sept 2018 who experience a cancellation due to the government shutdown Granada Beach Resort will give a 25% discount on a reservation during the closure period (26 April 18 – 30 Sept 2018).
Granada Beach Resort General Manager Chris Liles explains, “We realize many people save all year to be able to travel during their summer holiday. The last minute closure of Boracay is inconvenient for thousands of tourists and this is our offer to help travelers keep the Philippines in their vacation plans and still enjoy our amazing and beautiful country.”
